What are some ways to resolve a difficult conflict?

God’s Response

Isaac’s men then dug another well, but again there was a fight over it. . . . He dug another well, and the local people finally left him alone. Genesis 26:17-21

The Lord’s servants must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone. They must be . . . patient with difficult people. They should gently teach those who oppose the truth. 2 Timothy 2:24-25

To live peaceably with others does not mean avoiding conflict; instead, it means handling conflict appropriately. Conflict handled poorly leads to fractured relationships, and avoiding conflict altogether leads to unresolved hurt and anger. Rather, when conflict arises, rely on the Holy Spirit to keep you calm. Do not retaliate in anger, but respond with love. Do your best to restore harmony.

God’s Challenge

Do your part to live in peace with everyone, as much as possible. Romans 12:18
