Childlikeness

Childlikeness

How can I do a better job of accepting God’s love?

God’s Response

Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Luke 18:16

Jesus prayed this prayer: “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding the truth from those who think themselves so wise and clever, and for revealing it to the childlike.” Matthew 11:25

The LORD protects those of childlike faith; I was facing death, and then he saved me. Psalm 116:6

You begin to accept God’s love as you increase in humility and decrease in self-sufficiency. Jesus encourages you to receive his love with the same kind of trust a little child shows. A little child just loves to be loved, and simply soaks it up without needing to know why he or she is loved. Receiving God’s love is an act of simple faith. You have to be humble enough to know you need God and can’t make it through life or eternity without him.

God’s Promise

I will be faithful to you and make you mine, and you will finally know me as LORD. Hosea 2:20
