Use A Safety Net

The LORD will go ahead of you; yes, the God of Israel will protect you from behind. Isaiah 52:12

“Ladies and gentlemen, please direct your attention to the center ring, where the Amazing Velendas will perform their high-wire magic. Notice that there is no safety net.”

Why do some people insist on balancing twenty feet above the ground without a net? Having a net doesn’t make the balancing act any less spectacular. Their performance would be even more amazing if they knew there was something to catch them if they fell.

Leading an organization puts you in precarious positions. You’re the one who floats the crazy new idea. You’re the one who has to explain why it didn’t quite work as planned.

All eyes are on you.

Isaiah had confidence because he knew the Lord was covering his back. He could move out boldly, knowing there was a net beneath him if he stumbled.

Do you have a net? Do you have a network of people who will support you when things don’t go as planned?

You needn’t walk the tightrope alone.
