Stay Engaged

Stay Engaged

Joshua kept holding out his spear until everyone who had lived in Ai was completely destroyed. Joshua 8:26

NFL coaches are fun to watch. These guys blow off more energy than their players during the game—running up and down the sidelines, shouting their lungs out, arguing with referees, throwing their headsets to the ground. There’s no doubt the coach has his head in the game.

How strange would it be if the coach pulled up a chair, slipped on his earbuds, and started reading Sports Illustrated during the game? What if he left the field to take a phone call regarding a prospective player for next year’s team?

The players in this ridiculous scenario would quickly lose heart, and their performance would slide.

As long as the soldiers saw that Joshua was engaged, they fought on.

Your people need to know that you are engaged in their battles. You may not be on the field, but you need to show an active interest in their progress.

Can your team tell that you are actively in the game?
