Notice What Is Important

Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my robe?” Mark 5:30

Jesus had just arrived by boat, a large crowd had flocked to him, and a popular local pastor had asked him to heal his daughter when a sick woman touched his robe.

You can sense the pandemonium. People had heard about this man from Nazareth, and this was their chance to see him in action. The buzz, the excitement, and the noise were intense.

Even in the midst of this bedlam, Jesus knew that someone had intentionally touched his robe.

The disciples shook their heads. “You’ve got to be kidding. Look at all these people. They’ve all been touching you.”

But Jesus had a leader’s perspective. He had the ability to be in the moment without being consumed by it. He was filtering out the noise and paying attention to what was important.
