Eat In The Lunchroom
Eat in the Lunchroom
When the LORD had finished his conversation with Abraham, he went on his way, and Abraham returned to his tent. Genesis 18:33
God and Abraham engaged in a conversation about the pending destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. We know from the preceding verses that the dialog occurred during and after a meal in Abraham’s tent.
The exchange strikes me as rather casual. When it concluded, there was no major pronouncement. God went on his way, and Abraham returned to whatever he was doing before the conversation began.
How long has it been since you brought your lunch to work and shared a table with people who work for you?
This can be tricky if it isn’t done with the right attitude. You are invading their domain, so don’t force an agenda. It’s their lunch break, and your job is to listen.
They’ll be a bit suspicious at first, but it will become more comfortable as time goes on. If you make it a regular practice, they’ll even save room for you before they see you coming.
