Avoid A Leadership Void

In those days Israel had no king; all the people did whatever seemed right in their own eyes. Judges 17:6

The orchestra was performing outside. In the middle of a tune, a gust of wind caught the conductor’s music and blew it onto the grass.

As he reached down to retrieve his music, his musicians were momentarily without a leader. It sounded okay for a few moments, but without his consistent direction, some played a bit faster and others a bit slower.

They were all doing what they thought was right.

With no leader, the Israelites did what they thought was right. They weren’t trying to do wrong; they just didn’t have anyone to direct them.

Leadership voids can happen even with someone standing in a leadership position. People follow a leader who is decisive, focused, productive, and always looking to the future.

Perhaps your team has been unfocused lately, each doing what he or she thinks is right, all of them differently.
