Allocate Resources Fairly

Allocate Resources Fairly

David said, “No, my brothers! Don’t be selfish with what the LORD has given us. . . . We share and share alike—those who go to battle and those who guard the equipment.” 1 Samuel 30:23-24

Does your organization treat everyone fairly? Don’t answer too quickly.

Does everyone receive a salary that is proportionate to the work they do? Are the staff restrooms just as nice as those in the executive wing? Do your top people get bonuses while their personnel are told there’s no money for raises or additional help? What kind of car do you drive?

David’s top soldiers had just wiped out the Amalekites, and God had allowed them to keep the treasure they had plundered. Some of the soldiers had stayed behind, and those who had gone into battle wanted to exclude them from sharing in the bounty.

David intervened and reminded his troops that the Lord had kept them safe.

If all provision comes from God, then we are merely God’s agents. Are you handling God’s finances in the way he would if he were sitting in your chair?
