God’s Gps - Paul And Silas

Next Paul and Silas traveled through the area of Phrygia and Galatia, because the Holy Spirit had prevented them from preaching the word in the province of Asia at that time.

Who would have thought, even ten years ago, that so many new automobiles would have global positioning systems (GPS) as standard equipment? These electronic devices tell a driver at the push of a button exactly where he is and how to get where he wants to go. Today, drivers who even a short time ago didn’t know what a GPS was, depend on these devices to arrive on time at their chosen destinations.

When you’re driving, it’s important to know where you are going and how to get there. It’s far more important to know where God wants you to go, how to get there, and what to do once you arrive.

How does God direct you? He does it in the same way that he did in the time of the apostle Paul and his companion in ministry Silas: through the Holy Spirit’s leading.

The Bible tells us that the Spirit of God “prevented them from preaching the word in the province of Asia” and instead sent them to preach in places called Phrygia and Galatia. The Bible doesn’t say why God didn’t want Paul and Silas in Asia at that time or how the Holy Spirit prevented them from going. The important part of this account is that these men were so tuned-in to the Holy Spirit that they knew exactly where God wanted them to go.

The Holy Spirit faithfully guided Paul, Silas, and the rest of those he had called to preach, and he wants to guide your life today. The key is to remain in tune with him by faithfully following the guidance he has already made clear to you.

There is no better place to be in life than in the place where God has put you. When you follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, you can know without a doubt that you are right where he wants you.
