A Difference Maker - King Hezekiah

Hezekiah was twenty-five years old when he became the king of Judah, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-nine years. . . . He did what was pleasing in the LORD’s sight, just as his ancestor David had done.

Hezekiah stood out as a real difference maker at a time of rampant idolatry. This godly king was a reformer who guided his nation in eliminating idol worship and repairing the Temple in Jerusalem. He also reinstated the Passover feast.

As a result of Hezekiah’s work, a spiritual revival flourished in Judah for a time. Hezekiah reigned for twenty-nine years, during which he cemented his status as one of the few righteous kings to rule either Judah or Israel.

When Hezekiah assumed the throne, he clearly stated his intention to make a difference in his world. With God’s help, he made those differences. He loved God deeply and remained committed to turning his people back to the Lord.
