[The Lord said,] “I will pour out my Spirit on your descendants, and my blessing on your children.”

Isaiah 44:3

FROM THE HEART OF GOD

“Many cry out for an outpouring of My Spirit, but few are willing for Me to do that in whatever way I please. Do you understand what it means when you ask this? You are asking for an experience with Me, and then your theology treats experiences as insignificant. You ask Me for something that you are much too willing to push out of your life. I will pour out My Spirit on those who are open to receiving Me however I come. I am glad to respond to those who won’t define how I should appear.

“Do you long for this? Many look back to the age of the apostles or look forward to a distant age to come. But why would I—the one who intensely desires to lavish My love and blessings on you and has infinite power with which to do it—make such a limited promise? Why would I be so sparing with My gifts? Why would I confine My plan to a brief moment of history or a distant era after your lifetime? I wouldn’t. The offer stands—always. Your hunger and zeal will keep you pressing toward Me in faith, and I am a rewarder of those who diligently seek Me. If you choose—if you are persistent in faith and refuse to become discouraged—then the promise I gave ages ago will continue to be fulfilled to you and to anyone else in your generation who asks. You will experience My Spirit abundantly.

“Ask for this. I told you to seek first My Kingdom, and this is the highest priority in that search. The Kingdom must come in you before it comes through you. Don’t look for the Kingdom around you without looking for it deep inside. I will pour out My Spirit—My perspectives, My thoughts, My power, My heart—within you. Only believe. And then be open to whatever I do.”

Lord, pour out Your Spirit in me. Saturate me in the ways of Your Kingdom, the sound of Your voice, the beat of Your heart. Fill me as You promised.
