I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness.

Isaiah 43:19

FROM THE HEART OF GOD

“A season of disciplining My people had passed. When the prophet heard these words of promise, he captured My sense of excitement. I love doing new things in life and taking you to new places—physically, spiritually, emotionally, relationally, and in all other ways. I am the God of adventure. My desires for you are not stagnant. In one area or another, I’m always leading you somewhere.

“You know you have a limited point of view. That’s why you cry out to Me for guidance. Your perspective is low enough and small enough to see only a short distance. Many possibilities are hidden to you. You need revelation from a higher perspective. And I can give it to you. The shepherd sees and understands the terrain much better than the sheep do. Or to put it in your terms today, your GPS pictures the whole map. Even more than a human view from space, My vision accounts for everything. I see every path, every contingency, every potential obstacle, and every step before you take it. I know how to make a pathway through your wilderness.

“Your wilderness may seem vast and permanent, but I see the end of it. I’m leading you through it. If you search for your own way, you may wander longer than necessary, but if you listen carefully to Me, I will show you the right paths. You will get to the destination I have planned for you, and you will find it more satisfying and fulfilling than you thought possible. Don’t get impatient; just listen, believe, and follow. I have already begun to do something new.”

Lord, open my eyes to see at least the next step, if not the whole path. I grow weary and wonder if I’m stuck where I am. But You put adventure in my heart. Lead me into every place You’ve prepared for me. As I’m faithful with the old, open my eyes to something new.
