When you call, the LORD will answer. “Yes, I am here,” he will quickly reply.

FROM THE HEART OF GOD

“Nothing opens your ears to My voice better than demonstrating an intent to take what I’ve said seriously. I have declared that My words will not return to Me void, that they will accomplish all I intend for them to accomplish. I’m looking for people with the same perspective, people who will hear Me and say, ‘Lord, Your words will not return to You without accomplishing Your purposes. I am committed to seeing that they are fulfilled.’ Are you determined to see them through? When you are fully invested in the power of My words, you will find that the power of My words is fully invested in you.

“I’m not urging you to put My words under a microscope and become legalistic, as religious experts of the past have done. My words are powerful, not oppressive. But you must receive them at a heart level, in the depths of our relationship, handling what I say with a sense of sacredness, showing that My voice is as important to you when it hits your ears as it was to Me when it came out of My mouth. I don’t tickle the ears of casual listeners. I move the hearts of loyal friends.

“Friends share desires and passions and interests. Share Mine, and you will find Me unusually responsive to your questions and petitions. I will reply quickly and decisively. You may still go through times of waiting, but you will not go through times of disillusionment. Your prayers will not bounce off the ceiling. You will believe that I am the God who answers you. I will give you ample evidence to know it in the depths of your heart.”

Lord, hear me when I call! Your words mean everything to me. Everything. My desires are Your desires. I am zealous about whatever comes out of Your mouth. Let my responses to You, and Your responses to me, be quick and decisive.
