Experiencing God's Presence #313

The glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all people will see it together. The LORD has spoken!

Isaiah 40:5

God calls His people to be salt and light, to be influencers for the sake of His Kingdom. He puts His glory and His Presence within us so we can reflect His image to the world. And He inspired prophecies about His glory filling the earth as the waters fill the sea (Habakkuk 2:14). There’s an obvious connection between the calling and the prophecy. The earth will be filled with God’s glory because God’s glory-reflectors—His people—will cover the earth.

We live in a day of widespread depravity and agendas hostile to God’s Kingdom. But we also live in a day of unprecedented revival and growth in the Kingdom itself. Once-resistant mission fields are being penetrated by an increasing awareness of Jesus, His people, and the power of His Spirit. Secular institutions are being influenced by people filled with God’s Presence. In many respects, the knowledge of God’s glory is spreading throughout the earth. And according to prophecy, it will continue to do so.

God’s favor rests on those willing to carry His Presence into their world each day. If we gaze at Him, are transformed to be like Him, are filled with Him, and become one with Him, His glory will be on us and in us. He will put us in strategic positions as influencers; He will make Himself visible in us. Some won’t recognize His glory for what it is—or will choose to be blind to it—but others will see and be drawn to Him. And His Kingdom will continue to grow until He comes with even more visible glory.

Lord, I want to experience Your favor, and I know You give it for purposes as worthy as displaying Your glory. Give me assignments and put me in position to reflect You. Display Yourself visibly in me.
