Experiencing God's Presence #250

Experiencing God's Presence #250

I saw a door standing open in heaven. . . . The voice said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this.”

Revelation 4:1

In spite of human limitations, a mortal man is given an invitation to “come up here”—into the throne room of God. Even “in the Spirit,” how can a human respond? Though the logistics are baffling, God gets him there. It’s a vision, after all. Strange things can happen in the Spirit. The even more remarkable truth in this vision is that we serve a God who wants to open up and show His secrets.

Hear the heart of the Lord in this invitation: “I invite all My people into My throne room. In fact, you’ve been there without knowing it. This particular occasion was just for John, and this particular vision was unique. But I invite everyone to ‘come up here.’

“You want to know how? That’s the wrong question. Logistics are never your concern. I didn’t explain how the walls of Jericho would fall or how the mechanics of a virgin birth can work. I’m not asking you to ‘come up here’ by figuring out the steps and then taking them. No, I’m looking for a desire and a hunger in you. If you call to Me with a heart that wants to come up here, I’ll get you here. Just don’t turn away and say, ‘Well, I asked and nothing happened.’ Give it time. Let Me work. You’ll be surprised at the ways I can get you into My Presence.

“Understand that I’m a revealer by nature. I have mysteries, but I show them to those who seek. Do you really want to encounter Me? When I say ‘Come up here,’ don’t say, ‘How?’ Say, ‘Yes.’ When I hear that answer in you, I begin to heighten your spiritual senses and prepare you to encounter Me in new ways.”

Lord, I say yes. I know John’s vision was unique, but Your desire to reveal was not. Share Your heart with me. Let me experience Your mysteries. Let me come.
