I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

John 14:6

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. Many assume that means only that I show you the way, teach you the truth, and give you life, but that’s far too impersonal for Me. I am not just a path or a teaching or a key. I’m a Person. You can’t get what you need apart from firsthand encounters with Me. You have to get close to Me and let Me get close to you. In fact, you have to invite Me to enter the most private areas of your soul and live there. There is no other access to the way, the truth, and the life.

“I am your way and your truth and your life. Yes, I am available to the entire world—whoever is drawn to Me and responds—but I’m also individual to you. I know you inside and out. The religions of the world set you on a course toward whatever promise they offer, but they don’t take you by the hand and lead you. They offer formulas but don’t incarnate their truth within you. They give you tools to learn, tell you to be disciplined, and promise you rewards for diligence. That’s not a light burden or an easy yoke. It’s not My way.

“It grieves Me when My people follow the techniques of the world to become ‘holy’ or to find fulfillment. They forget that I’m a Person and that I’m individually available to each of them. Don’t let it be that way with you. Always be on guard against lapsing from living in Me into following religious practices. If you feel that you haven’t done enough or reached high enough to experience My fullest blessings, you’ve forgotten My truth. Stop striving and know Me. I’m not just what you need, I’m who you need.”

Jesus, You are my life—and the only way to God. Fill me with Yourself and take me where You want to go.
