God’s Hand Of Blessing
God’s Hand of Blessing
Read Proverbs 10:20-32
The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it. Proverbs 10:22
When God places his hand on you and trusts you with a calling, why does he do it? Is it to make you happy? Or is it to make you and the world more holy? I think the second leads to the first. As you give, God gives back. See the Proverbs 31 woman’s example.
She is an industrious woman, making money, but for what? She under-writes her ministry and family expenses and then she gives to the needy: “Her hands are busy spinning thread, her fingers twisting fiber. She extends a helping hand to the poor and opens her arms to the needy” (vv. 19-20).
With her weaving equipment, she is creating fabric for clothes and goods. And she doesn’t just make enough for her own family, but she also makes enough for the poor and needy: “She has no fear of winter for her household because all of them have warm clothes. She quilts her own bedspreads. She dresses like royalty in gowns of finest cloth” (vv. 21-22).
Because she has planned well, her own family is clothed well, and she has enough to even make a bedspread! She has earned enough to clothe herself in fine linen, the color of royalty.
When you treat others as royalty, God sends you a blessing fit for a queen!
