Mind
Mind
Satan, the god of this evil world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe, so they are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News that is shining upon them. They don’t understand the message we preach about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.
2 Corinthians 4:4
God’s Spirit and God’s Word can bring the knowledge of salvation to a person who is not yet a believer. Most of us are aware of grandmas and grandpas, aunts, uncles, or neighbors who haven’t yet seen the light of Christ. The most powerful thing we can do as believers is spend time praying that their minds will be opened to God’s truth.
Here are some verses that we can pray for family and friends whom God brings to our attention:
Romans 8:6: “If your sinful nature controls your mind, there is death. But if the Holy Spirit controls your mind, there is life and peace.”
Prayer: Father, please bring the influence of your Spirit into _____’s mind.
Ephesians 5:8: “For though your hearts were once full of darkness, now you are full of light from the Lord, and your behavior should show it!”
Prayer: Father, in the same way that you brought me from darkness to light, please shine your light into the mind of _______.
Ephesians 4:21-22: “Since you have heard all about him and have learned the truth that is in Jesus, throw off your old evil nature and your former way of life.”
Prayer: Father, thank you that I have been a recipient of your truth. I pray that you will bring the light of your truth to _______, and that your Spirit will convince him or her that your Son Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
Father,
Thank you that your Word is powerful. Thank you that it lends authority to our prayers and to our children’s prayers. Amen.
