Pray, And Pray Often
Pray, and Pray Often
Read Luke 22:39-46
“Get up and pray.” Luke 22:46
The Bible tells us many times to pray, and to pray often. But we men, being the task-oriented creatures we are, need a good reason to pray.
What do you think God finds important enough for us to pray about? He wants us to pray about the areas in our lives he sees as vital for success:
So pray often . . .
- for your enemies and those who persecute or mistreat you (Matthew 5:44; Luke 6:28)
- for strength not to fall into temptation (Matthew 26:41)
- for reconnected relationships (Romans 1:10)
- that you are rescued from unbelievers (Romans 15:31)
- that your heart will be enlightened to the hope in God’s promises (Ephesians 1:18)
- that you’ll be strengthened by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 3:16)
- that you’ll be rooted and established in love (Ephesians 3:17)
- that you’ll be given words to fearlessly and clearly share the gospel (Ephesians 6:19; Colossians 4:4)
- that God would count you worthy of your calling and would help you to fulfill every good purpose he has given you (2 Thessalonians 1:11)
- that you will actively share faith and have a full understanding of every good thing in Jesus (Philemon 1:6)
- that you have a clear conscience (Hebrews 13:18)
- when you have trouble or sickness (James 5:13-14)
- to confess sin (James 5:16)
Lord, never let me forget to pray, and pray often.
