Movin’ Out

Frank set out on his motorcycle with about four hundred other men and women on bikes for a one-week journey to “ground zero” in New York City to commemorate the events of September 11, 2001.

Frank is a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA), and although the CMA didn’t sponsor the event, Frank knew God wanted him to go wearing his CMA colors. He decided to watch and see how God moved. When God moved, Frank was ready to follow.

Each night of the trip the group of bikers stopped in a different town, where they participated in memorials to the events of 9/11. One night Frank was asked if he would publicly address the group and honor the heroes who had emerged from the disaster. Frank agreed to speak, and through his efforts, he gained the trust of many of the riders.

On the fourth day of the trip, one of the riders had a heart attack and was rushed to a local hospital. The group immediately turned to Frank and asked him what they should do. He contacted the victim’s family, made arrangements to care for his motorcycle and personal effects, and then made his way to the hospital. As Frank sat in the man’s room, he had the opportunity to tell him and his family how God had worked in his life and how they too could have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

This story is a beautiful example of what can happen when one man boldly steps out in obedience and lifts up the name of Jesus. And it’s a reminder that when you see God moving, it’s time to move out and follow him.
