The Perfect Woman

Read Proverbs 31

Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her: “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!”

Proverbs 31:28-29

The woman who receives the praises in Proverbs 31:28-29 has obviously been doing something right. She’s an extraordinary wife and mother who touched the lives of her children and husband in an extra-special way. Reading the entire passage, we understand the reasons why her family rises to praise her.

The husband says that his wife is doing something noteworthy among other moral, skillful women. The question is, what makes her so different? It is most likely her spirit and attitude that are leaving marks on her family. Proverbs 31 runs through a list of duties she handles. The text conveys that it is her heart that makes her stand out from the rest. Her family is delighted that she brings such richness into their home!

Not only is this a woman whom we can aspire to be like, but she is also an example of the type of woman that makes a good life mate. When a marriage is formed between a man and a woman with these qualities, the result is a healthy, loving home.
