Read Proverbs 5
The LORD sees clearly what a man does, examining every path he takes.
Proverbs 5:21
If every sin we commit were printed on the front page of The New York Times, we might live life in a slightly different fashion. While we think most of our sins are hidden from the public eye, they are always exposed to God. He sees what we do and where we go, and he knows our thoughts and motives.
Our attitude determines how we will live in the presence of God’s omniscience. We will either be joyful or resentful. A joyous perspective rests secure under God’s watch. (We are never out of God’s protective reach.) A resentful perspective considers God’s presence to be threatening and controlling. (One can never get a moment of privacy.)
God’s watch over us convinces us of something else, however: He loves us. He knows us better than anyone else does. Only a caring father would keep such a steady eye on us.
A WORD FOR TODAY
God never blinks.
Today, Lord, I thank you for your ever-present watch on my life, that you care about me enough to take an active interest in my life.
