Follow The Leader
Read Proverbs 28
Those who lead good people along an evil path will fall into their own trap, but the honest will inherit good things.
Proverbs 28:10
Jesus made a similar statement when he told his disciples, “If you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone hung around your neck” (Mark 9:42). Clearly, God does not take it lightly when anyone leads others into sin. He is especially harsh on spiritual leaders because they are trusted (James 3:1). A pastor, teacher, parent, or anyone else in spiritual leadership must be worthy of trust. A spiritual leader who leads others into sin will be punished severely. Leadership is a heavy responsibility.
Honest leaders, however, will reap the fruit of their honest leadership. The results, though they may take time, will be worthwhile. They will have students who will grow and mature and so be able to teach others (2 Timothy 2:2). And they will receive a commendation from the Lord.
A WORD FOR TODAY
Honesty plants seeds of abundance.
Lord, let me look at myself as those who follow me look at me. Reveal to me what kind of example I am to them. Show me where I need to improve.
