Worthy Is The Lamb
Worthy Is the Lamb
They sang in a mighty chorus:
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered—
to receive power and riches
and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and blessing.”
And then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea. They sang:
“Blessing and honor and glory and power
belong to the one sitting on the throne
and to the Lamb forever and ever.”
Revelation 5:12-13
Scripture encourages Christians to offer prayers of praise and thanksgiving to their God continually (1 Thessalonians 5:17-18). But as important as our personal worship of God may be, a vital dimension is missing until we join our prayers of praise with those of others. To be caught up in adoration of the Lord together with his people is the fulfillment of our calling to be his worshippers, for it is to a people (gathered from all places and all eras) that the Lord will come to receive the homage he richly deserves. His people will respond to his coming with a unified hymn of blessing, exalting the Lord God and the Lamb.
May we ever be found in the fellowship of that praising, prayerful people!
- Blessing and honor, glory and power to you, Lord God . . .
