Trusting In God’s Plan

Trusting in God’s Plan

Though I am surrounded by troubles,

you will protect me from the anger of my enemies.

You reach out your hand,

and the power of your right hand saves me.

The LORD will work out his plans for my life—

for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever.

Don’t abandon me, for you made me.

Psalm 138:7-8

Do you believe God controls your circumstances when you feel “surrounded by troubles”? This is a difficult challenge for most people. But we must cling by faith to what we know to be true about God, even when we don’t see it in action. So David says, “You will protect me from the anger of my enemies.” Though we are tempted to plan out our entire life as well as its possibilities, we can assert with David that “the Lord will work out his plans for my life.” In a touching plea of the embattled soul, David cried, “Don’t abandon me, for you made me.”

Today in prayer, thank God that he has a good plan for you. In those dark moments when it seems as though he might have abandoned you, remember that God is faithful, and he will never let you go.

  • Dear Lord, protect me from the anger of my enemies . . .
