Revering The Lord

All he does is just and good,

and all his commandments are trustworthy.

They are forever true,

to be obeyed faithfully and with integrity.

He has paid a full ransom for his people.

He has guaranteed his covenant with them forever.

What a holy, awe-inspiring name he has!

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom.

All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom.

Praise him forever!

Psalm 111:7-10

Much of society today no longer values reverence. Instead, our culture tends to uphold the irreverent—those who don’t hold anything or anyone sacred. But this doesn’t mean that God is any less worthy of reverence today than when the psalmist penned these words. God should be honored because all he does and says is just and good. We shouldn’t approach God with a flippant or demanding attitude, but rather, with respect, honor, and reverence. True wisdom is knowing to whom we owe our very existence. And those who align their life with this truth will grow in wisdom.

Revisit the foundation of your faith and the fount of all wisdom today. Bow before the Lord and give him the reverence he deserves.
