Praise For God’s Wonderful Plan

O LORD, I will honor and praise your name,

for you are my God.

You do such wonderful things!

You planned them long ago,

and now you have accomplished them.

Isaiah 25:1

Our year of prayer is finally over. Has this year seen the fulfillment of God’s purpose in your life as you have been drawn to him in devotion, praise, and petition? We may not always know how God is going to answer our prayers. God is full of surprises! We may not always know the results—either spiritual or material—of our efforts to seek God in prayer. But we have assurance from God’s Word that he is always at work in the lives of those who belong to him—of those who are called to accomplish his purpose.

No matter what happens to us, we can praise him and profess, “You are my God,” just as Isaiah did. We should begin our annual cycle of prayers with this profession of faith. And we should end the cycle with the same affirmation—now more deeply felt and more clearly understood—for we are closer to learning what it means to be a servant of such a God.
