Praise For God’s Mercy

Praise the LORD!

For he has heard my cry for mercy.

The LORD is my strength and shield.

I trust him with all my heart.

He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.

I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.

Psalm 28:6-7

God is merciful! How many times, like David, have we felt that our backs were up against the wall, our situation hopeless unless God intervened? David experienced the Lord’s strength many times, so he often expressed his gratitude with this type of praise: “He has heard my cry for mercy. The LORD is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart,” David joyfully concluded.

When we ask for God’s mercy, we must never neglect to sing his praise, for he is our only hope, our strength, and our shield. Even as we wait for a solution to our current dilemma, we can praise him for his faithfulness to us in the past. This will encourage our faith and nurture our trust in the God of mercy.
