Moses’ Prayer To Enter The Land

I pleaded with the LORD and said, “O Sovereign LORD, you have only begun to show your greatness and the strength of your hand to me, your servant. Is there any god in heaven or on earth who can perform such great and mighty deeds as you do? Please let me cross the Jordan to see the wonderful land on the other side, the beautiful hill country and the Lebanon mountains.”

Deuteronomy 3:23-25

One can detect wistfulness in Moses’ desperate prayer. He wanted to enter the land God had promised his people so long ago. He wanted to see the land flowing with milk and honey. But unfortunately, Moses had allowed his anger with the Israelites to affect how he obeyed God’s directions, so the Lord would not let him enter the land. Even though Moses faced a no to his prayer, however, he knew God had a good plan for his life and submitted himself to it. When God says no, there’s a reason. His no is always loving; he always has our best interests at heart.

It’s never wrong to ask God for our desires. As you approach God in prayer today, submit your longings to him. Then ask him to prepare you for his good plan for your life.
