Drinking From The Fountain Of Salvation

Drinking from the Fountain of Salvation

With joy you will drink deeply

from the fountain of salvation!

In that wonderful day you will sing:

“Thank the LORD! Praise his name!

Tell the nations what he has done.

Let them know how mighty he is!

Sing to the LORD, for he has done wonderful things.

Make known his praise around the world.”

Isaiah 12:3-5

This excerpt is a pause of joyful praise in an otherwise frightful prediction from God’s prophet Isaiah concerning Israel’s disobedience. It is the prayer the Israelites will offer to God after he saves them from their sins. Isaiah compared their change of heart to quenching one’s parched throat at a fountain. Isn’t it amazing how experiencing the dreadful results of sin brings a new appreciation of the joys of obeying God? The hearts of these newfound believers overflow with thanksgiving to God for all he has done.

In prayer, thank God for saving you. Ask him to satisfy your parched soul and renew your spirit.

  • Dear Lord, I thank you and praise your name. You have done wonderful things . . .
