A Prayer For God To Answer

Answer my prayers, O LORD,

for your unfailing love is wonderful.

Take care of me,

for your mercy is so plentiful.

Don’t hide from your servant;

answer me quickly, for I am in deep trouble!

Come and redeem me;

free me from my enemies.

Psalm 69:16-18

Sometimes we’re “up,” and sometimes we’re “down.” The Scriptures, especially the Psalms, reflect the full range of human emotions, helping us to pray whatever our mood is. At times, we perceive the Lord’s presence clearly and vividly; at other times, it is shadowy or hidden behind a cloud. Still, God’s Word stands, whatever our circumstances, and we can carry on our conversation with the Lord through thick and thin. Although we may not literally see our Lord’s face, we can be certain he is near. When Jesus left this earth, he said, “I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). Jesus’ promise to be with us always is just as true today as it was in the disciples’ time. When we pray to him, we can be certain that Jesus will answer.
