The Sooner The Better
THE SOONER THE BETTER
Read Psalm 107:1-8.
“Becky, would you share your testimony next week?” Mr. Helton asked after Bible club.
Becky said, “I don’t have anything to share.”
“I thought you asked Jesus to save you at one of our meetings last year,” answered the teacher.
“Yes, but people who give testimonies always tell about all the bad things they did before Jesus came into their heart,” Becky said. “I didn’t do a lot of bad things.”
Mr. Helton smiled. He knew Becky was remembering the rally to which he had taken his Bible club. First a pro football player had talked about his life on drugs. Then a woman had talked about how she had wanted to take her life until a friend stepped in and told her about Jesus’ love. “Becky, since you accepted Jesus into your heart at a young age, the Lord has kept you away from some of the horrible sin that might have entered your life as you grew older. You can express thanks to God for this.”
“But do you think anyone is interested in hearing what I have to say?” Becky wondered.
“Oh yes,” Mr. Helton assured her. “Many others in our Bible club may feel just as you do—that they have little to testify about. Hearing what you have to say may help them realize how blessed they are too. And some who are not saved may see the value of accepting Jesus now, while they are young.”
Becky smiled and nodded. “Plan on my testimony next week,” she said.
HOW ABOUT YOU?
Are you one of those who accepted Jesus as Savior before you ever got deeply involved in a life of sin? If so, never be sorry that you have not experienced some of the evil in the world. Instead, thank the Lord for protecting you.
TO MEMORIZE:
Has the LORD redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.
