When There’s a Hole in Your Soul

FATHER GOD, I recognize I have a hole in my soul, and I realize that I have sometimes

not trusted that you have my best interest in mind;

used clothes, status, romance, food, or other substances to fill the hole in my soul;

tried to control others or circumstances that are not mine to control or manipulate;

allowed work to eat a hole in my soul;

wrestled needlessly with guilt;

allowed my unfulfilled expectations of others to turn my good deeds sour.

Actions I will take:

Example: I will let go of trying to control the desires and actions of my sister.

Father, only you and your Son, Jesus, can fill the hole in my soul. I thank you for the gift of life eternal and the love you have poured out through the life of your Son. Remind me that you are the beginning and the end to filling my emptiness. Amen.
