I Heard It On The Radio
I Heard It on the Radio
FATHER GOD, you opened my ears to understand that
I am failing to embrace my current life stage and today’s blessings;
when I struggle to fulfill your purpose for me, your strength will help me prevail;
my self-confidence is drained, but with your help, I will stand back up;
I have placed the priority of work, children, or self above that of developing a healthy sexual relationship with my husband;
I need to learn to blow my horn through the modeling of self-confidence, self-assurance, self-promotion, and self-awareness;
I have spent too much time and energy trying to please others instead of being true to the person you created;
you consider my soul an even trade for your Son’s life;
I need to move beyond resentment so I can experience your glory;
I need to pray first and act second;
what I considered my stuff is really your stuff;
it’s time to get over it and stop wearing the tiara of pain;
it’s time to gain a new perspective about where I sit in the rumble seat;
I often get caught up in the wrong things; in the end, I will judge the quality of my life by how I lived.
Actions I will take:
Example: I will be a wild woman with my man tonight!
Father, thank you for using songwriters, vocalists, and musicians to teach us important lessons on living with uncommon joy. I praise you for guiding me to live an abundant life of promise, hope, joy, and celebration, and for the lessons I’ve learned through despair, failure, disappointment, and grief. In your Son’s name, Amen.
