A Different Perspective

A Different Perspective

FATHER GOD, I want to consider a new perspective, and I realize that I need your help to

look beyond my crisis of today in order to see your promise and hope for tomorrow;

allow my children to learn important lessons through the experience of failure;

move my focus from my outward beauty to the beauty of my character;

remember that other women, although they may be from very different backgrounds, religions, or of different political leanings, are really not that different than me—we all long to love and to be loved.

Actions I will take:

Example: I will let my kids do their own homework and fight their own battles this week!

Father, I realize that I am sometimes narrow in my views, living in your beautifully created world with my blinders on. Convict me when my focus is turned inward rather than on others. Strengthen me as I let go of the grasp of perfection for my children—remind me to allow them to make mistakes. Thank you for your promise of tomorrow. Amen.
