Beauty Is More Than Skin Deep
Beauty Is More Than Skin Deep
Q: What makes a person attractive?
- a. loyalty
- b. beauty
- c. charm
If you go shopping with your mom or dad, you might notice the magazines in the rack near the checkout line. Some feature news about television and movie stars. Others have outrageous claims such as alien babies being born. A few magazines are about sports, and some magazines are for women or teenage girls, with models on the cover.
What makes people choose a certain model to put on the cover of a magazine? They choose a person whose looks will catch people’s attention and cause them to notice the magazine and buy it.
What makes a person attractive according to today’s proverb? It’s not blue or brown eyes, shiny hair, or a pretty face. It’s not a muscular build. It’s loyalty.
What are you loyal to? You might be loyal to a certain sports team or player. You may be loyal to your school or church. You might be loyal to your best friend. These are okay as long as they build you up and help you seek to be a better person. But most of all, your loyalty should be with Jesus and your faith. When it is, people will see Jesus shining through you, and that will make you attractive.
For You
People often judge you by your physical appearance. Those with “perfect” teeth, hair, skin, face, and figure are noticed. But that’s not how God judges you. Proverbs says loyalty makes a person attractive. In what ways do you show your loyalty to Jesus and your faith? How can you improve?
Answer: a
