Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.
Jeremiah 33:3
HAVE YOU EVER asked God a heavy question like, Why did such and such happen to me? It might have been a terrible accident or a loss you’ve never come to terms with. Or perhaps it’s something in the Bible: Why did you order King Saul to kill all those people? It seems like genocide.
Did you get an answer? You probably did. And perhaps it was quite amazing. For instance, one young man puzzled over God’s order to exterminate the Amalekites in 1 Samuel 15:1-3. On the surface, it simply looked like revenge. But when he studied it more, he found out how truly evil these people were and how they had vowed to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. It was simply a matter of survival for the Jews. Thus, God was not ordering the punishment of a people for no reason but because the Amalekites were wicked.
When you pray, when you come up against a hard question, don’t hesitate to ask God about it. His promise is to answer and also to tell you some “remarkable secrets.” These insights will expand and enhance your love for God and your understanding of him. So go for it!
