Never Disgraced

Never Disgraced

The Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in [God] will never be disgraced.”

Romans 10:11

JOSH FACED THE police with terror. His wife, separated from him, had accused him of abusing their children. He would not be allowed to see them until the problem was resolved.

Josh, a strong believer, could not understand how this could have happened. His wife had serious mental problems, but even so, he knew she could be very believable to the authorities. Nonetheless, after the police left, he stopped and prayed for God’s help, asking that he not be disgraced.

Throughout the investigation by several officers, a social worker, and a psychologist, Josh remained calm and hopeful. When his case went to trial, he had all the nonpartisan authorities on his side. In the end, he won custody of his children.

Many times Josh looks back on this Scripture verse as his turning point. “I trusted God not to let me be disgraced, and he came through.”

There may be many occasions in your life when you face failure, abandonment, scorn, or humiliation. God will come through for you, too. Trust him. God will bring out the truth, and you will be amazed.
