Hiding In Him
Hiding in Him
He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.
Psalm 91:3-5
HAVE YOU EVER watched a flock of hens and their little chicks as they pecked corn? What happens when some barking mongrel shows up and threatens them? The little chicks run. But not for the chicken coop. Not for a hole to hide in. Not for a barn to protect them.
No, those chicks run for Mom, and they nestle under her wings. Then they stick out their little tongues at the oppressor and cry, “Hah! Now come near! Our mom will peck your eyes out!”
Well, maybe that is a little far out, but that’s a picture God gave us so we can understand his care and concern for us. And what wings! What a giant that God of ours is! Ever wonder what Satan must think when we scurry under God’s wings in prayer and trust? Ever picture him shaking his fist at you, and God just staring back at him, daring him to come closer?
How many other times have you experienced God’s protection—such as being rescued from temptation or being protected from a drunk driver? Once in a while God does let us stand and face a monster, but there are many, many times he pulls us under his wings and stares down the monsters till they finally run away, their tails between their legs.
