BEING IN LOVE is so exciting!

When you’re in love, you just can’t wait to talk to your sweetie. And to spend time with him or her is the joy of living! It seems as if no matter how much time people in love spend together, it’s never enough. The time passes—hours seem like only moments, and you both long for time to stand still while you’re together.

If you’re married, remember those days when you dawdled at chores, your mind on your sweetheart? Remember imagining what it would be like to live with the person you love—for always? What joy when that day finally came!

When we enter a relationship with Christ, we become part of his bride, the church. We sometimes imagine what heaven will be like when we’re all together. We picture the mansion he’s preparing for us. We envision how it will be when we’re finally with him forever.

The truth is, the joyous promise of the Christian life is that forever begins while we’re still on this earth. Sure, we’ll live with Christ and be his bride in heaven someday. But until then, he’ll live within us, on earth. As we invite him to take charge, he’ll be part of our days like a beloved spouse—helping us, looking out for our best interests, and just enjoying being with us.

Let’s take some time today to enjoy his presence in our lives, since our forever together has already begun!
