Finding Real Peace

Finding Real Peace

Since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.

Romans 5:1

OFTEN PEOPLE WILL do anything for peace. Divorcing her husband, Maria gave up her home and the right to see her children every day so she could find “peace.” Josh crumpled before his boss’s demand that he put in sixty-hour weeks just so he didn’t have to listen to his boss’s complaints about his lousy work habits. And Connie won a peace with her son simply by giving him the money he demanded every time he called. But that’s all peace at a price.

God’s peace comes at a price too: that of faith and repentance. When we confess we’ve broken his rules, rejected his leadership, and led our own lives, God brings us back into fellowship with him. Suddenly, we experience spiritual, supernatural peace, something the world cannot give and does not know. We find that God suddenly becomes a friend, not a foe. And we discover that he is the best friend we could ever ask for.

Have you found peace with God? All you need do is believe in his Son, ask him to forgive your sins, ask him for his peace, and stop fighting him. His promise is you will gain the peace that passes all understanding and is so real and beautiful you’ll never get over having found it.
