Love Stands Firm In Hardship

LOVE STANDS FIRM IN HARDSHIP

Begin by quieting your body and mind, remembering you are in God’s loving presence. Open your hands to reflect with your body your desire for a heart that’s open to whatever he has for you today. Spend a minute in silence.

Reflect

Love does not jump ship at the slightest sign of a storm. Love stands firm in hardship despite the fear, uncertainty, or momentary suffering. When we are beating back fear and pain, expecting the worst, and losing hope, love says, “Stand firm. Stay in it. You are not alone.”

  • What relationships come to mind when you reflect on the refrain “Stand firm. Stay in it. You are not alone”? Why? Ask God to help you understand what he might be inviting you to see or do.
  • How might standing firm in the midst of fear, uncertainty, or suffering cultivate your ability and desire to protect those you love?
  • What most frequently keeps you from remaining steady and present in the stormy seasons of relationships?
Respond

Father, you are love. Jesus, you are love. Holy Spirit, you are love.

Shape me into the image of love, and lead me in the way of love. Amen.
