Love Prays

LOVE PRAYS

Begin by quieting your body and mind, remembering you are in God’s loving presence. Open your hands to reflect with your body your desire for a heart that’s open to whatever he has for you today. Spend a minute in silence.

Love calls us to pray—fervently, faithfully—for transformation, for family, for friends, for enemies, for the world, for God’s Kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven. When we are tempted by self-pity, self-protection, or self-focus, love says, “Pray. Ask God. Tell your Creator and Sustainer. Turn to your great comforter, the one who intercedes. Pray.”

• What relationships come to mind when you reflect on the refrain “Pray. Ask God. Tell your Creator and Sustainer. Turn to your great comforter, the one who intercedes. Pray”? Why? Ask God to help you understand what he might be inviting you to see or do.
• How might praying honestly and openly for yourself and others cultivate your ability to be persistent in the way you love others?
• What most frequently keeps you from praying or being open with God in prayer?

Father, you are love. Jesus, you are love. Holy Spirit, you are love.

Shape me into the image of love, and lead me in the way of love. Amen.
