Love Knows The Lowly
LOVE KNOWS THE LOWLY
Begin by quieting your body and mind, remembering you are in God’s loving presence. Open your hands to reflect with your body your desire for a heart that’s open to whatever he has for you today. Spend a minute in silence.

Reflect
Love calls us to reach out to people who are marginalized, those deemed outsiders or outliers. When we want to protect our reputations and escape into comfort, love says, “Know the lowly. Get close. Stand near.”
- What relationships come to mind when you reflect on the refrain “Know the lowly. Get close. Stand near”? Why? Ask God to help you understand what he might be inviting you to see or do.
- How might reaching out to people who are marginalized or spending time with people of low position cultivate kindness in you?
- What most frequently keeps you from getting to know people outside your normal circles?
Respond
Father, you are love. Jesus, you are love. Holy Spirit, you are love.
Shape me into the image of love, and lead me in the way of love. Amen.
