Love Honors Others
LOVE HONORS OTHERS
Begin by quieting your body and mind, remembering you are in God’s loving presence. Open your hands to reflect with your body your desire for a heart that’s open to whatever he has for you today. Spend a minute in silence.
Read Romans 12:9-21 (see page 250)
Reflect
Love calls us to see God’s image in every person. When we look down on others or see them as less, love says, “Honor others. Hold them in high regard, as men and women made in God’s very image and loved so much that Christ died to save them.”
- What relationships come to mind when you reflect on the refrain “Honor others. Hold them in high regard, as men and women made in God’s image and loved so much that Christ died to save them”? Why? Ask God to help you understand what he might be inviting you to see or do.
- How might remembering that each person you see was made in God’s image cultivate your desire and ability to honor others above yourself?
- What most frequently keeps you from seeing God’s image in others?
Respond
Father, you are love. Jesus, you are love. Holy Spirit, you are love.
Shape me into the image of love, and lead me in the way of love. Amen.
