Moving

GRACIOUS FATHER, this is an emotional day for me, one I wish were not here. My dear friend is moving away, and I’m heartbroken to see her go.

My friend’s belongings are packed. She’ll soon be leaving, and it’s time for us to say good-bye. Please come alongside this one who is so dear to me as she leaves familiar relationships and surroundings—not knowing exactly what her life will be like in the new location. I’m grateful my friend has a relationship with you, Father, because I know your presence will go with her.

When she arrives at her new home, please give her stamina as she unpacks boxes, makes lots of decisions, and gets things situated. All of these things are exhausting. Please provide people on the other end who will offer help, kindness, and understanding. On days when things feel overwhelming, please help her to turn to you. May she be assured that you will bend down and listen as she expresses her feelings, needs, and concerns to you. Please bless her, helping her to grow and flourish in her new setting. May my friend’s new home be a place of peace for her, for her family, and for all who visit.
