Morning Prayer For Family - Prayers for Every Occasion

LOVING FATHER, thank you for blessing my family with children, who are gifts to be treasured. May I never lose my awe of your generosity.

As I’ve been reading the Old Testament book of Job, I was struck by something Job did: He offered you burnt offerings in the morning for each of his children. What are you trying to teach me through Job’s act, Father? Even though Job followed you, he was human and had to deal with his sin problem. He obviously cared about his children and their sin issues too. By making special offerings to you for his children, maybe he was demonstrating his hopes that you would deal lovingly with his children’s sins too. I get that, Lord. I have the same hopes for myself and for my children.

In that spirit, I offer you a prayer this morning that you will protect each member of my family and draw us all to yourself. May we see our need for you, experience your abundant love and forgiveness, and respond with a desire to spend time with you. I long to see these things in all our lives. In the strong name of Jesus, amen.
