LORD JESUS, GIVER OF ALL GOOD GIFTS, several people in my circle of friends are presently out of work and fighting discouragement. The uncertainty of the future feels unsettling to them, and they are even beginning to question their personal worth and usefulness to their family and to society. I feel for these friends, and I lift them up to you.
Dear Jesus, please come close to my friends and their families today. Reassure them of your constant care, and remind them of ways you have faithfully provided for them in the past. May you strengthen their faith and provide even more than their expressed requests, now and in the days ahead. Amen.
Don’t worry about these things, saying, “What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?” These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
