RIGHTEOUS FATHER, this side of heaven, we can’t be perfect—though we sometimes try. The sting of sin will be painfully present as long as we’re living on this earth. You tell us that all our righteousness is like filthy rags. Yet you are perfectly righteous, loving, and fair, dressed in garments that are regal and holy. Sometimes we attempt to design our own new clothes . . . until we come to see them for the rags they really are. When we ask you for forgiveness, trusting in Jesus’ death and resurrection to give us new life, you embrace us as your children and give us fresh new wardrobes.

Your line of clothing dresses us with mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, love, peace, and thankfulness. Thank you for giving us these lasting benefits. May our hearts reflect who you are to those around us.
