Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom. . . . Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love, so we may sing for joy to the end of our lives.

Remembering how short life really is can help us make wiser choices each day. If you woke up every morning remembering the brevity of life, you would probably be more present and loving to those around you. Maybe you wouldn’t fret so much about the small stuff. Or perhaps you would make decisions with eternity in mind. As you begin each day, ask God to remind you of his unfailing love and to help you live wisely and joyfully since you don’t know which day will be your last.
